Installation

  1. Download/copy the CabinetForge folder (containing CabinetForge.py and CabinetForge.manifest) into Fusion's Add-Ins folder: %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\API\AddIns\
  2. In Fusion, open Utilities > Add-Ins > Scripts and Add-Ins, find CabinetForge under the Add-Ins tab, and click Run. Check Run on Startup so it's available every time you open Fusion.
  3. Two new commands appear on the Solid > Create panel: Cabinet Forge and Generate Cut List.

Generating a cabinet

Click Cabinet Forge to open the wizard. It walks through one decision at a time:

  1. Cabinet Type — Base, Wall/Upper, or Tall/Pantry (with an Oven/Utility vs. true-pantry subtype, which sets a sensible default depth). An optional Cabinet only mode skips every remaining style question and builds a bare carcass.
  2. Dimensions & Toe Kick — overall height, width, depth, and material thickness. Base cabinets take a freeform height; Wall and Tall/Pantry cabinets can pick from a standard-height menu or switch to a custom value. A toe kick (height/depth) is available for Base and Tall/Pantry cabinets.
  3. Construction Style — Frameless or Face Frame. Choosing Face Frame adds stile/rail width and frame overhang fields for the carcass's own frame.
  4. Front Style — Doors or All Drawers. A door-front cabinet can add a drawer bank below the door(s). Each door can be built as a Slab (flat panel) or Shaker (stile-and-rail frame around a center panel) door, independent of the carcass's construction style.
  5. Front Style Details — drawer count, top drawer height, reveal, slide clearance, drawer depth and drawer box thickness (full drawer boxes are generated, not just the visible front), and shaker door stile/rail width when applicable.
  6. Review — confirms every choice before generating the cabinet.

Every generated cabinet is one Fusion Component per panel (sides, top/bottom or stretchers, back, toe kick, doors, drawer fronts, drawer boxes), each a plain rectangular solid. All dimensions — height, width, depth, thickness, toe kick size, reveal, slide clearance, and more — are created as native Fusion User Parameters, so they stay editable afterward through Fusion's own Change Parameters dialog even without the add-in running.

You can also assign a Material label (used later in the cut list) and an Appearance (a real wood species — Oak, Walnut, Pine, or Cherry) to each cabinet.

Editing an existing cabinet

Reopen the Cabinet Forge command while a previously generated cabinet exists and choose to edit it: the wizard skips straight to the Review step with that cabinet's own choices pre-filled. A purely dimensional change (like widening the cabinet) updates through Fusion's parameters; a structural change (like adding a drawer or switching front style) regenerates the affected panels.

Generating a cut list

Click Generate Cut List to export shop documents for every CabinetForge cabinet in the current document — no per-cabinet selection needed. Before exporting, you can set:

After picking an output folder, CabinetForge generates:
